RubyFrost Mini Heart Apple Pies

Ingredients

  • RubyFrost Apples - 4
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
  • Melted Butter - 4 tbsp
  • Brown Sugar - 3/4 tsp
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • Pie Crust (I Use Pilsbury) - 2 Rolls
  • Powdered Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Egg - 1
  • Milk or Almond Milk -
  • Dash of Salt -

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix cubed + cored apples with lemon juice.
  3. Add melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to the apple mixture with a pinch of salt and mix together.
  4. Roll out pie crust on a floured surface. Then use the heart shaped cookie hearts to cut out a bunch of hearts.
  5. Put heart cutouts on a parchment lined baking sheet and top with apple pie filling. Make sure to leave about a 1/2-inch border and brush the egg around it. Place a second heart cutout on top.
  6. Press the edges of the pie together with a fork and rub with the rest of the egg and a dash of salt.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden + then cool on a cooling rack.
  8. Drizzle frosting mixture (powdered sugar + milk) on top. PS I just add in a little bit more milk at a time until you get a thicker consistency to drizzle on top! ADD sprinkles!
