RubyFrost Mini Heart Apple Pies
Ingredients
- RubyFrost Apples - 4
- Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
- Melted Butter - 4 tbsp
- Brown Sugar - 3/4 tsp
- Cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- Pie Crust (I Use Pilsbury) - 2 Rolls
- Powdered Sugar - 1 Cup
- Egg - 1
- Milk or Almond Milk -
- Dash of Salt -
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix cubed + cored apples with lemon juice.
- Add melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to the apple mixture with a pinch of salt and mix together.
- Roll out pie crust on a floured surface. Then use the heart shaped cookie hearts to cut out a bunch of hearts.
- Put heart cutouts on a parchment lined baking sheet and top with apple pie filling. Make sure to leave about a 1/2-inch border and brush the egg around it. Place a second heart cutout on top.
- Press the edges of the pie together with a fork and rub with the rest of the egg and a dash of salt.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden + then cool on a cooling rack.
- Drizzle frosting mixture (powdered sugar + milk) on top. PS I just add in a little bit more milk at a time until you get a thicker consistency to drizzle on top! ADD sprinkles!
