  • Brown Sugar - 1/4 Cup
  • Egg - 1
  • Water - 1/2 Tsp
  • Powered Sugar - 1/4 Cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 ̊F. Remove the puff pastry from the freezer and thaw according to instructions while making the apple filling.
  2. In a pot, melt 1 tablespoon butter and add diced ruby frost apples, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, pinch of salt, 1/4 cup brown sugar or as per taste and cook, stirring occasionally until softened and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  3. Use a rolling pen to shape the pastry sheets into 4 equal-sized squares and place cooled apple stuffing on each square, leaving at least a 1/2" border for sealing.
  4. Beat 1 egg and a little water to make egg wash and apply to the edges of the pastry to seal, then make a design with a fork.
  5. Place turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with space in between each. Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden and puffy.
  6. While turnovers are still warm, mix together powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream and drizzle glaze over each pastry.
  7. Enjoy!
